Trainer Bio
Peter grew up in Slovakia and started his racing career at the age of 14 as an apprentice jockey in jockey school in Sala, Slovakia. After graduating, he worked in the Slovakian Hall of Fame stables of trainer Otto Suchovsky. In 1996 he moved to Germany and spent seven years as an exercise rider, forman, and asst. trainer for trainers Andreas Lowe, Uwe Ostmann, Dieter Fechner, and Andreas Wohler. In 2002, he moved to the US to work for trainer Carl Nafzger in which time he worked with horses such as My Boston Gal, Mayo On The Side, Westerly Breeze, and Street Sense. Later he made the decision to stay in Florida with the vision of becoming a trainer. Peter worked as an assistant for trainer Steve Standridge and took out his trainer's license in the summer of 2009 at Calder. That year he saddled 16 winners from 94 starters. In 2010, he split his stable between Arlington and Calder and had 22 winners from 136 starters. Overall, Peter has saddled 48 winners with good win and ITM %. He has trained multiple stakes horses such as Gourmer Dinner(Dr. Fager S., Affirmed S.), Trippi's Sailor(2nd Lightning City S.), Sweet Like Sugar(multiple stakes placed), and Maddie's Odyssey(multiple winner, 4th Ellis Park Turf S.) Peter will be based in Florida year round running horses at Gulfstream and Tampa.
