From the inception of my career, I have been passionate about my profession and have cared deeply about perpetuating the trust and integrity of the Thoroughbred Racing and Parimutuel Industry. I have been a personal veterinarian for champion Thoroughbreds including Seattle Slew, Alydar, Honest Pleasure, Foolish Pleasure, Spend a Buck, Princess Rooney, Mecke, Smile and others.
Some of my clients include Hall of Fame trainers Leroy Jolley, Lucian Lauren, Bill Mott, Jack Van Berg, in addition to leading Florida farms that include Tartan Farms, Ocala Stud and Farnsworth Farms and owners including John Franks, J. Mac Robinson, Charlotte Webber, Mike Sherman, and Christine Janks..
I was awarded the distinguished Veterinarian of the Year (1983) by the South Florida Veterinary Association and have enjoyed an unblemished record throughout my entire veterinarian practice. After receiving my doctorate from Auburn University, I have maintained a self-employed Florida veterinary practice since 1975. I am licensed in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Delaware, North Carolina, Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Kentucky, Maryland and the state of Washington, as well as in Florida. I have served on the Florida Board of Veterinary Medicine since 1993, having been elected by my fellow board members to serve as its Chairman for most of those years. I have been consecutively appointed by the last four Florida Governors (representing both parties), and I have served as an expert witness in Equine Medicine and Surgery for the Florida Board of Veterinary Medicine.
