Owner Bio

I am the founder, owner and operator, along with my wife Holly, of Denali Stud in Paris, Kentucky.  It consists of 700 acres in Bourbon County, some of the best land in the world for raising horses.  Additionally Denali Stud is a major and leading consignor at horse sales in Kentucky and Saratoga. I also manage portfolios of broodmares for several high end clients.  I have been involved in the industry professionally my whole life.  I started as a jockey at the age of 18, worked for Fasig Tipton after graduating college, and Barry Weisbord (publisher of the Thoroughbred Daily News).  Denali was started in 1989 on leased land and developed over the years to its present size.  We have raised some outstanding Grade 1 horses and champions including Animal Kingdom, winner of the 2011 Kentucky Derby and 2013 Dubai World Cup.

Holly (my wife of 29 years) and I have 3 children.  Katherine (24) a registered nurse, Conrad (21), a junior at Sewanee University, and Isabel (14) a freshman at Henry Clay HS.
