I have always had a passion for horseracing. Every time I have a horse running, I try to bring a few people who have never been to the horseraces. It seems that every time they leave, they've had a wonderful time and want to come back. This is my ultimate goal as an owner. I want to get as many new people involved in this amazing sport as possible.
I grew up in Huntington Beach, California, which is about 20 minutes from Los Alamitos Racetrack. It’s at Los Alamitos where I got my first taste of horseracing. A few years after receiving my Bachelors Degree from the University of Southern California in 1992, I studied all aspects of Thoroughbred racing, which is my true passion. In 2008, I was one of the founders of Cherry Hawk Stables, which started as a partnership with 20 guys who each made an investment of $3,000 towards the purchase of our first colt, Twenty Hawks. Twenty Hawks has earned over $300K in purse money and is a multiple stakes winner. Since our partnership began, we’ve added two more colts. Celebrity Status, a four year old has won over $170K and is also a stakes winner. Our third addition to the stable is a two year old colt by Vronsky by the name of Contemplate. Cherry Hawk Stables has been profitable every year since it began 11 years ago. We have had 74 starts with a 16% win percentage and have been in the money 47% of the time. Together with Kyle Yost, who has owned and managed horses for 12 years, we are launching a new partnership in 2015 under the name Taste of Victory Stables.
