Russ’s license plate is “BYANOSE”. Need we say more?
Russ is a soon to be retired senior partner in PwC’s Advisory Practice with 39 years of experience in the media, entertainment, sports, communications, and financial services industries. His clients have included HBO, HULU, Warner Bros., Verizon, Turner, Fox, The United States Tennis Association, the New York Mets, and many other well-known brands.
Before joining PwC, Russ started his career at the US Treasury and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Russ has had a front row seat to the transformation of how consumers engage with media and has worked with clients in a variety of initiatives, including new business launches, re-imagining the consumer experience, and deploying the technology for ‘TV everywhere.’
His post-PwC ‘encore career’ will include advisory assignments at several major media companies as well as serving as an advisor to TOV Stables. He will work closely with the founding partners in areas such as strategies for expansion, enhancements in the co-owner experience, and relationships with the industry (e.g., Jockey Club, NYRA, Stronach Group, NTRA).
Russ’s love for horse racing started as a teen when he’d sneak to Brandywine racetrack near his home in suburban Philadelphia to watch the trotters, and transitioned to Thoroughbreds in the mid-1970s when his future father-in-law turned him on to horses like Affirmed and Seattle Slew (Russ witnessed both of the Triple Crown wins in the Belmont Stakes), and to family trips to Saratoga during the racing season.
Russ lives on Long Island with his wife Laura. He has an MBA in Finance from St. John's University and a BS in Accounting from the University of Scranton.
