Owner Bio

My name is Dianette Rivas. I was born and raised in New Jersey. I have always had an interest in horses. However, I never had the chance to own them. Towards the end of 2010 I decided to purchase my first farm in Deltona, Florida. We started off slow only owning 3 Quarter Horses. As we started to educate ourselves with horses, the numbers grew. As the months passed by we had a total of 10 Quarter Horses. We dedicated ourselves each and every day to maintain their weight and appearance. One day I called my brother in law who works for a stable in New York and he asked me if I ever thought about transitioning my farm into a thoroughbred farm. We had no Idea what we were going to get into. So we thought about it and we decided to start this off slow. In January 2012 we got our first Thoroughbred. A multiple graded stakes winners, by outstanding sire Freud, Darrin's Dilemma. He was nothing compared to a Quarter Horse. A few weeks after Darrin's arrival we lost one of our Quarter Horse Yearlings Rocky (Docs Rocky Wood) We were very devistated with his loss. This is how we came up with Rocky Time Farm to honor him. After the loss of Rocky, we dedicated the rest of the year to sell the remainder of the Quarter Horses to excellent homes and to educate ourselves on the history of Throughbreds, bloodlines, racing, and everything that we need to know. In 2013 we aquired two new stallions for Rocky Time Farm. First was Daunting (IRE) a well bred colt by Awesome Again out of a Cozzene mare Cozzy Corner. Next Canadian bred Proud Day Indeed (CAN) came with a Pleasant Tap sire line by Tap Day out of an Alydeed mare Proud Deed. After aquiring Three Stallions and a great bunch of broodmares, we decided as a family that this business would be much successful if we relocated to Ocala. Finally in May of 2014 I purchased a new property in Reddick, Fl off of HWY 225a. A beautiful piece of property that has 30 acres of Lush Green Grass. This is what I call my home. This is Rocky Time Farm.
