The Jockey Club is pleased to introduce the 31st edition of our annual guide to the Thoroughbred industry in North America.
For the first time, this year The American Racing Manual is available as part of the Fact Book, free of charge. The manual has traditionally served as a source for historical racing trends and data for more than 115 years.
We hope you find the statistics and information contained herein helpful in your research.
Although most statistics may be considered final, some are not.
For example, data pertaining to 2020 racing, supplied by racetracks of North America and the North American Thoroughbred industry's Official database for racing information, Equibase Company, can be considered final but is subject to revision if additional data becomes available.
Because of the cyclical nature of reporting procedures, however, breeding statistics such as the distribution of foals, stallions and mares are subject to change. These statistics are updated on a regular basis.
