About Us:

Horseshoe Indianapolis is a great family entertainment center in Central Indiana. Learn more about our track and see our wonderful new state-of-the-art facility. The major pari-mutuel horseracing track opened as Indiana Downs for its Preview Meet in December 2002, bringing the thrill of live racing to area residents. A full-card simulcast wagering facility at the track features thoroughbred and harness races from across the country and is open throughout the year. The track, located just south of Indianapolis’ I-465 on I-74 at Fairland Road in Shelby County, features the full-service Silks and Sulkies restaurant with seating for approximately 375. The track has facilities that can be rented for business entertaining, including track-side suites on the top level. In addition, the Starting Gate gift shop offers stationery, general giftware, accessories and other items. Horseshoe Indianapolis has an indoor seating capacity of approximately 3,000 and is sited on an approximately 200-acre tract. Construction costs total approximately $35 million (including two satellite wagering facilities). Construction Manager was Turner Construction Co., Indianapolis, and the architect was Creative Industries, Inc. Horseshoe Indianapolis offers a sprawling, 233,000-square-foot gaming floor with close to 2000 slots and electronic games. The casino is connected to the clubhouse. In 2018, Caesars Entertainment purchased Indiana Grand and in 2022, the facility underwent a new name change to Horseshoe Indianapolis to identify with the company’s brand.
