About Us:

Penn Vet’s New Bolton Center Campus, which opened in 1952, is located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, on close to 700 acres in pastoral Chester County. The campus offers some of the nation's finest veterinary services for horses, cattle, camelids, pigs, goats, sheep and other large animals.

Most notably, New Bolton Center's Hospital for Large Animals, which opened in 1964, provides a standard of care that is internationally renowned. Its equine experts offer services that range from primary care through the most complicated and sophisticated medical and surgical techniques in use today. A leader in equine diagnostics, the hospital operates state-of-the-art equine sports medicine and diagnostic imaging facilities in conjunction with high-speed treadmill services. The facility delivers critical data for cardiologists, orthopedists and other specialists, as well as trainers looking for performance evaluations. New Bolton Center also offers sophisticated diagnostic tools, such as nuclear scintigraphy, state-of-the-art ultrasonography, endoscopy, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and digital radiography.

With a long history of excellence, New Bolton Center enjoys one of the largest caseloads of any academic large animal hospital in the country. The hospital provides inpatient and outpatient services, accommodating more than 6,000 patient visits each year, and a field service that treats more than 13,000 cases each year on client farms.
